Pattaya Beach: A Tropical Escape with Endless Adventures!

Pattaya Beach, located along Thailand’s eastern Gulf coast, is a vibrant destination known for its golden sands, lively atmosphere, and exciting water activities. Whether you're looking to relax under swaying palm trees or dive into thrilling adventures, Pattaya Beach has something for everyone.

The beach has numerous safety areas specifically for swimming, which are pefect for honing stroke technique as well as getting in some distance training.

Then at night, why not relax eating seafood on the beach and taking part in some of the world's most famous nightlife.

With numerous safe roped off swimming areas this long beach is perfect for beginners to get used to open water swimming in Thailand.

Jomtien

Jomtien Beach is about 8km from Pattaya and is a beautiful long stretch of relatively quieter beach than its neighbour.  With loads of street food and fresh seafood, little bars and shaded beach areas, this is a lovely place to while away a few hours on your trip and take in a coastal sea swim while you're there.

As a testament to Jomtien's suitability as a sea swimming destination in 2025 the Southeast Asian Open Water Swimming Championships were hosted at Jomtien Beach; and in December 2025 there is an annual Swimathon event there too, drawing swimmers from all over Thailand and beyond.

Ko Larn

Ko Larn is an island just off the coast of Pattaya, accessible by public ferries and speed boats. The beaches are rustic and retain some of its old style charm although it is not the 'backwater island' it once was!  The bays however all have protected swimming areas and many of them are quieter as you get further from the ferry towns.

It is not uncommon as you go further and further down the island to find swim areas with just a few people present. All swimming bays offer great open water swimming adventures in Thailand as you can swim around the island exploring coral reefs and even swim from beach to beach on the longer swims.

With plenty of places to get food and water, there's a lot to see and do and the beaches are just perfect for your open water swim camp Thailand adventure. There's a few resident sea turtles here too, which you may get to see if you're lucky!
