This may sound like a daft topic for a blog but in fact is a common question - where to leave your car keys when you go sea swimming?
If you have the old style key as opposed to the electronic variety and rather than leaving them on the tire or behind the wheel I used to wear a nylon belt under my wetsuit and clip the keys to that. They're unobtrusive and I felt secure that the keys are with me at all times.

Other people prefer to put their keys in the stowage compartment of their swim bouy, if it has one, but this depends on whether the compartment is really watertight.
My dog recently ate my swimming bouy, so I now have another LOMO swim tow that has a watertight compartment.
However, although it is a good piece of kit, it is obvious that they are not 100% watertight, moisture does find its way in.
I now keep my electronic key in a waterproof, toughened container like the one below by LOMO. I then place this in the swim tow and it works perfectly.

Whatever solution you choose we would recommend giving it some thought before you get to the beach in order to maintain a relaxed state of mind on the day. The less stress the better and the last thing you want is salt water in your electronic key unit!
